Born from Covid, bringing 'sailor therapy' to the masses!

Sea shanties have been around for centuries, but in 2021, they sailed into popular culture! Dubbed by Stephen Colbert as "The Year of the Shanty" and giving rise to the new social media #ShantyTok, 2021 brought a renewed excitement for sea shanties to a receptive younger audience.
 

'Shipwrecked Shanty' was ready to go, with some members having been in the shanty scene for over 30 years! We looked at each other and said, "We have ONE job," and so we set forth and continued sharing this form of musical entertainment with a new and enthusiastic crowd.

Much like how karaoke is a shared experience that brings joy to a room, so now do sea shanties! With over 800 local, national, and international followers on social media, we hope to infect YOU with them—and there ain't no penicillin that will fix THIS sailor's itch!
